HADRAMOUT, Aug. 15 (YPA) – Several tribal gunmen stormed on Thursday a coalition-run prison in Hadramout province, freeing one of their detained sons, amid a major security and military failure in the province.
Sources familiar with the matter said Dahm tribe militants broke into the prison in Qatan district in Hadramout Valley, releasing one of their sons, Sadiq Jamil al-Nufi, at gunpoint.
They then returned to their homes in Marib amidst a large celebration from their families.
The sources added that security forces pursued the gunmen and mistakenly opened fire on one of vehicles, destroying it.
The midday prison raid was met with widespread mockery among Hadramout residents, amid a widespread deployment of the Saudi-backed First Region forces.
