Zionist occupation reduces water supplies to pressure Gaza residents

GAZA, Jan.13 (YPA) – The Water Authority announced, on Monday, that the quantities of water purchased from the Israeli company “Mekorot” for the benefit of the Gaza Strip amounted to 13.8 million cubic meters during the year 2024, at a financial cost of more than 54 million shekels.

The Water Authority indicated in a statement that the quantities of water since the beginning of the war of extermination have decreased from 18.5 million cubic meters to 13.8 million cubic meters as part of the occupation’s punitive policy and the use of water as a weapon in its ongoing aggression.

She stressed that she is working to ensure the distribution of these quantities to the northern, central and southern regions, to ensure the provision of potable water to our people in the Gaza Strip according to the available quantities, in addition to the maintenance and rehabilitation work she is doing for water lines, tanks and desalination stations, and providing the necessary fuel to operate them in the areas that technical crews can reach and work in to ensure the pumping of water to citizens.
