Hundreds demonstrate in Abyan to demand arrest of a murder accused

ABYAN, Jan. 05 (YPA) – Hundreds of citizens demonstrated on Sunday in Zinjbar city of Abyan province, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions, demanding the arrest of a man accused of murder.

The demonstration was led by a group of sheikhs and notables of Abyan tribes, along with farmers, who chanted slogans demanding the arrest of the accused in the case of the murder of the young man Saleh Al-Maqbouli, who was killed in the Al-Fish area two days ago.

The protesters moved from Al-Koz Roundabout to the Abyan Security Administration building, controlled by the STC factions, with the aim of pressuring security officials to arrest the perpetrator who has been on the run since the incident.

They were surprised by the absence of authorized officials inside the security administration building, which prompted them to head towards the STC factions’ headquarters, chanting slogans demanding justice and holding the perpetrator accountable.

The demonstrators denounced the security chaos in Abyan districts since 2016.
