Al-Qaeda elements target sites of Shabwa Defense forces by drones in Shabwa

SHABWA, Jan. 05 (YPA) – Terrorist elements launched, on Sunday, an attack using drones targeting sites belonging to the Emirati factions in Shabwa governorate.

Local sources reported that the attack targeted the “Ghoul Al-Jarf” site belonging to the “Shabwa Defense” factions in the Al-Musaina’a area in the Al-Sa’id district, south of the city of Ataq, the governorate’s capital.

It is worth noting that Al-Qaeda obtained the drones after seizing a shipment of drones with the complicity of leaders of the Islah Party in Marib through an armed ambush that was prepared in advance with Saudi Arabia in the Badarat area west of the Al-Wadiah port at the end of December 2022 AD and transporting them to an unknown destination.

That came after the Emirati factions took control of the Islah camps in Ataq and some Shabwa directorates during August of the same year.
