French-American forces train pro-coalition forces in eastern Yemen
HADRAMOUT, Dec. 28 (YPA) – Political sources have revealed intensive French military movements in the eastern provinces of Yemen.
Saif Muthanna, the executive director of the Washington Center for Human Rights, confirmed in a post on the “X” platform on Saturday the presence of French and American forces training special units affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition in the eastern provinces of Yemen.
This comes amid calls to recruit thousands of “Hadramis” to protect the Hadramout province, rich in natural resources, which raises questions about the real objectives of these movements.
The move coincided with the Hadramout Tribal Alliance’s call to recruit thousands of the Hadramout people into what it called the “Hadramout Protection Forces” last week.
It is likely that the French-American forces are training the extremist Salafist factions called “Dera Al-Watan” loyal to Saudi Arabia, which the latter seeks to deploy them in the Hadramout valley districts.
