New US-made MQ-9 Reaper drone shot down over Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – Yemen’s air defense forces declared on Saturday it had shot down a new American-made MQ-9 Reaper drone over Yemen.

Spokesman for the armed forces, Brig. Gen. Yahiya Sarie, explained in a new statement that the aircraft was targeted with a locally-made surface-to-air missile, while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Bayda province.

The spokesman added that the MQ-9 Reaper drone is the thirteenth that the air defenses have managed to shoot down since the Israeli aggression began on Gaza in Oct 7, 2023.

“The Yemeni armed forces confirmed that they will continue to confront all attempts by the enemies to undermine the sovereignty of our country,” Brig. Gen. Sarie. “They will continue their operations in support of Gaza, and that these operations will not be stopped until the aggression on Gaza is ended and the siege is lifted.”
