Two former Syrian army intelligence personnel assassinated in Deir ez-Zor

DAMASCUS, Dec. 23 (YPA) – An officer and commander in the Military Intelligence Division of the former Syrian army was assassinated by gunmen affiliated with the military operations department of the armed factions in Syria.

 The Syrian Observatory reported that a leader from the Shiite sect known to work for networks linked to the former Syrian army intelligence was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Hatla village in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Muhammad Rafi al-Malh, a former officer in the Military Intelligence Division, also died after suffering serious injuries yesterday after being targeted by unidentified gunmen near the Al-Masriya roundabout in the city of Al-Bukamal in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
