WASHINGTON, Dec. 21 (YPA) – The U.S. State Department has approved an arms sale to Egypt valued at over $5 billion, according to the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon).
In a statement released on Friday, the Pentagon said that the deal includes the upgrading and support of “Abrams” tanks, which is the primary component of the agreement, valued at $4.69 billion.
Additionally, the potential deal includes “Hellfire” missiles worth $630 million and a precision weapons system worth $30 million.
This sale aimed at supporting U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.
