Netanyahu rejects French request for ceasefire in Lebanon

OCCUPIED QUDS, Oct. 16 (YPA) – Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli entity’s prime minister, confirmed to French President Emmanuel Macron that the occupying entity rejects a “unilateral ceasefire in Lebanon.”

Netanyahu considered that he “opposes a unilateral ceasefire that does not change the security situation in Lebanon and only returns it to what it was,” according to a statement from Netanyahu’s office.

For his part, a senior official at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned earlier on Monday of the risk of a “lost generation” in Lebanon, after more than 400,000 children were displaced during the past three weeks as a result of the Israeli occupation’s aggression.

Ted Chaiban, UNICEF Deputy Executive Director for Humanitarian Action, explained that Lebanon is facing multiple crises now, amid escalating military operations between the occupation and Hezbollah.
