Over 200 pro-Palestinian protesters arrested in New York

NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Over 200 pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested by the US police after they staged a sit-in outside the New York Stock Exchange, demanding an end to US support for the Zionist occupation’s war on Gaza Strip.

In the rally, which was held outside the landmark Stock Exchange building near Wall Street in Manhattan, the protesters called on the US administration to stop funding genocide against the Palestinians.

None of the protesters entered the stock exchange, but dozens managed to get past a security fence set up by police outside the main building on Broad Street.

A police spokesman said 206 people were arrested, without giving further details, while Jewish groups involved in the protests said about 500 demonstrators took part in the protests.

The protesters directed their anger at American defense contractors and arms manufacturers, while others chanted slogans against the Zionist attacks in Lebanon, where the Israeli occupation forces have for weeks expanded their escalation and air strikes and began a ground intervention, assassinating a number of Hezbollah leaders.
