STC checkpoints increase illegal levies on goods trucks in Lahj by 100%

LAHJ, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Illegal levies imposed by factions of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on drivers of good trucks loaded with goods on the roads linking Lahj province to other provinces have increased.

According to local sources, the STC checkpoints stopped the trucks on Al-Raja’a Road in Lahj after they refused to pay 100,000 riyals for each truck’s passage.

The sources explained that the drivers refused to pay the illegal levies, which had increased by 100% after they had paid 50,000 riyals during the past month.
