BEIRUT, Oct. 13 (YPA) – Israeli warplanes targeted the old mosque in the town of Kafr Tibnit in the south of the country and completely destroyed it, the Lebanese News Agency said on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, the Israeli raids did not subside throughout the night, targeting several towns, including Aita al-Shaab, Rumine, Kafr Kila, Khiam, and the Marjayoun Plain.
The mayor of Kafr Tibnit, Fouad Ismail Yassin, said that the village, located about eight kilometers from the border, lost a landmark “that has great symbolism for the people of the village.”
Yassin added, “On occasions, families gather in the square near it,” noting that its construction dates back more than a hundred years.
