Five Syrian soldiers killed in Israeli strike in Damascus countryside

DAMSCUS, Sept. 27 (YPA) – At least five Syrian soldiers were killed and another was wounded in an Israeli strike targeting one of our military sites on the Syrian-Lebanese border, the state news agency “SANA” reported on Friday, citing a military source.

“The attack took place at around 1:35 a.m. on Friday, against one of our military sites on the Syrian-Lebanese border near Kfier Yabous, Damascus countryside,” the source said in a statement.

On Thursday, an Israeli airstrike in eastern Lebanon hit a building housing Syrian workers and their families, killing 23 people.

The attack comes in the context of Israel’s wide-scale bombing campaign in Lebanon that has killed over 700 people, including many Syrians.
