Retired US Colonel warns of nuclear escalation in Russia-Ukraine war

WORLD, Sept. 11 (YPA) – Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, said on Tuesday, that a Russian victory in the Ukrainian conflict would undermine the West’s reputation and enhance the influence of the BRICS group on the global stage.

According to the news agency Novosti, Davis said: “Just imagine the outcome of a Russian military victory in the Ukrainian conflict, which is now entirely possible… This will significantly affect Russia’s image and make more countries want to join BRICS to detach themselves from the Western world… because the West will appear weaker and less reliable in their view… and we are already witnessing this in the Global South.”

He pointed out that a desire to escalate the conflict with Russia will not improve the situation for the West.

Davis warned of the danger of nuclear escalation.

He stated: “If anyone thinks that we can win by continuing to issue statements about using long-range weapons or by engaging in a direct war with Russia, this will actually only inflict significant damage to our interests.”
