Hamas calls for global strike in support of Gaza

GAZA, Aug. 20 (YPA) – Hamas movement called on Wednesday on the masses of the Arab and Islamic nation, and the free people of the world, to participate widely in the global strike in support of the Gaza Strip on Thursday and against the Israeli aggression on the Strip.

In a statement, the movement called for organizing popular marches and angry demonstrations on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in all cities, squares, and capitals around the world, in rejection of the continued aggression, genocide, and systematic starvation to which over two million Palestinians in the Strip have been subjected.

The statement demanded also all forms of demonstrations and sit-ins should be escalated in front of the embassies of the United States, “Israel”, and countries supporting the occupation, until the aggression be stopped and the siege and starvation imposed on the Gaza Strip lifted.

It warned of the occupation army’s plans to occupy Gaza City, which would entail the forced displacement of more than one million people, considering this a new chapter in the genocidal war being waged against the Palestinians.
