Hadramout tribes escalate protests against coalition-backed authorities

HDARAMOUT, Sept. 01 (YPA) – Tribes of the coastal districts of Hadramout, which is under the control of the Emirati factions, escalated their protests against the local authorities affiliated with the coalition.

Local sources familiar with the matter in the city of Al-Shihr of Ghayl Ba Wazir district, north of the city of Mukalla, the capital of the province, said that citizens escalated their protests by blocking the international road linking Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman.

Meanwhile, Media activist, Sabri Salmeen Bin Makhashin, confirmed that the people of Shihr sparked the revolution against injustice and corruption by cutting off the road linking Al-Mukalla and al-Shihr.

He added in a post on “X” that the people of al-Shihr, with the wide participation of fishermen, blocked the road to the passage of tankers until their demands be met.

Al-Shihr people are demanding the improvement of electricity services and the end of the fuel dose, in addition to allowing fishermen to fish at the Sea after Emirati forces present at Al Rayyan and Al Dhaba airports prevented them, following their implementation of dozens of protests during the past years.

The escalation comes after a wide kidnapping campaign was carried out against the sons of the city of Shihr since Saturday evening, including Mohammed Rabie Badqediq and Mohammed Basaidu, on charges of leading popular protests in the city and preventing the passage of Emirati forces on their way to Mukalla.
