SHABWA, Sept. 01 (YPA) – Armed clashes broke out on Sunday between UAE-funded factions in Radhom district of the oil-rich Shabwa province in eastern Yemen, leaving several wounded.
Informed sources in the province confirmed that clashes broke out between the militants of the “Second Shabwa Defense Brigade,” led by Wajdi Baoum, and the guards of the commander Mukhtar Omar Saleh al-Sulaimani in Radhom al-Sahili, resulting in wounded people, including one of Baoum’s guards.
The sources explained that the clashes broke out while commander Baoum was accompanying an Emirati military force that was targeted by Al-Sulaimani in Radhom, where the UAE bases camps for its forces, especially in the Balhaf gas facility.
It was reported that the UAE forces command summoned military reinforcements to the region amid tensions likely to explode.
