Lavrov: US-UK attacks on Yemen contributes to escalation in Middle East

MOSCOW, Aug. 27 (YPA) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed on Tuesday his country’s condemnation of the US-British attacks on Yemen.

“Russia does not agree with what the American and British forces did by directing strikes on Yemen and calls for the dialogue table between the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the Sultanate of Oman to return to diplomacy and not the armed option,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov explained that the US and British strikes on Yemen contribute to increasing escalation in the region.

He noted Russia’s readiness to support national reconciliation efforts in Yemen.
