Israeli soldier killed, 12 wounded in Hamas tight ambush in Zeitoun neighborhood

GAZA, Aug. 23 (YPA) -The Israeli occupation forces reported on Friday that a soldier had been killed and 12 others wounded, including 4 with serious injuries, following an explosion of an explosive device in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.

The occupation forces admitted in a statement that a soldier was killed, and four others sustained serious injuries, while three more soldiers were moderately injured.

The soldiers reached a building and began to search it. As four soldiers from the force entered the structure, an explosive device planted on the outer wall of the building exploded, according to the occupation statemen.

An investigation by the occupation forces revealed that the explosion injured those standing outside the building but not those inside.

The investigation also noted that Hamas fighters set up a camera at the building and then detonated the explosive device as the soldiers entered the building.

Additionally, the Israeli army radio reported that a reserve force was searching buildings in the Zeitoun neighborhood before reaching the booby-trapped building.
