Zionist soldiers use Palestinian civilians as human shields in Gaza war: Investigation

GAZA, Aug. 14 (YPA) – An investigation by the Zionist newspaper “Haaretz” revealed on Tuesday that the Zionist enemy army is using Palestinian civilians as human shields during its war in the Gaza Strip, with the knowledge of senior officers.
The newspaper reported that “the Zionist forces are placing civilians at the forefront of the units that conduct inspections of buildings and tunnels,” adding that in some cases, the Zionist army has used children, women, and the elderly as human shields.
When asked, some soldiers said, “Our lives are more important than the lives of Palestinian civilians,” and that it is better for them to remain alive and for the Palestinians to die.
Earlier, the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor announced that video clips were published documenting the Zionist enemy army’s use of Palestinian civilian detainees as human shields and forcing them to explore dangerous combat zones, which is an example of a systematic policy it is implementing.

It stated that since the start of the ground operations of the Zionist army at the end of October 2023, it has documented dozens of cases in which Palestinian civilians were used as human shields, and some of them were forcibly forced to carry out military actions that pose a direct threat to their lives, in addition to detaining others in houses and sites in areas of clashes, which puts their lives in danger, in violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.

The Euro-Med Monitor affirmed that the Zionist army’s repeated use of civilians as human shields was not limited to the Gaza Strip, but rather many similar cases were documented in the West Bank, which is an extension of a policy followed by the Zionist army for many years, whether during rounds of escalation or during repeated incursions into the West Bank.
