Amaliqa gunmen kidnap citizen from inside hospital in Ataq

SHABWA, Aug. 07 (YPA) – A citizen was beaten and stabbed by gunmen from the UAE-affiliated Amaliqa Fifth Brigade faction in Shabwa governorate, eastern Yemen.

Local sources reported that the Amaliqa gunmen riding the “Foxy” bus attacked the citizen, Abdul Rab Ahmed Qabasan, by stabbing and beating him with rifle butts, and then threw him on the side of the road linking Bayhan and the city of Ataq, the center of the governorate.

The sources said, “Citizens from Al Ishaq family took the citizen to Ataq Hospital to receive treatment,” indicating that he decided to file a complaint against them, so they kidnapped him from inside the hospital.

The gunmen transferred citizen Qabasan to the Shabwa Defense Brigade Prison and forced him to give up the assault he was subjected to in order to be released, the sources added.

The sources also reported that citizen Qabasan receives continuous threats through callings from those armed with liquidation, corporal punishment and imprisonment if a complaint is filed.
