US Navy destroyers USS Laboon, USS Cole attacked in Aden Gulf

SANAA, Aug. 06 (YPA) – Yemen’s armed forces announced on Wednesday it had carried out military operations against two American destroyers.

Military spokesman Brigadier General Yahiya Sarie said in a televised statement that the US Navy destroyers USS Laboon and USS Cole were accurately targeted with a number of ballistic missiles and drones in Aden Gulf.

“The two American destroyers were targeted while they were crossing the Yemeni armed forces’ area of operations towards the northern Red Sea, within the framework of providing American military protection to the Israeli enemy,” he added.

The spokesman affirmed also that the ship ‘Contship Ono’ was directly attacked in the Red Sea with a number of ballistic missiles and drones after it violated the decision to ban entry into the ports of occupied Palestine.

He stated, “The results of the armed forces’ operations have proven the failure of the two destroyers to completely confront the missiles and drones.”

The spokesman considered all US military moves in support of the Israeli enemy as hostile actions, and they will be targeted with all available means.

Brigadier General Sarie re-affirmed that the Yemeni armed forces’ operations will continue until the aggression is stopped and the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted.
