Palestinian detainee dead in Israeli occupation prison

GAZA, Aug. 01 (YPA) – The Ministry of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners in Gaza Strip reported on Thursday the martyrdom of detainee Omar Abdel Aziz Junaid (26 years old), from Jabalia, north of Gaza, inside the Israeli occupation prisons after being subjected to interrogation and severe torture.

The Ministry quoted Junaid’s father as saying that they received a call today, Thursday, from the “Individual Defense Center” stating that he was martyred on 17/6/2024 under investigation and torture, without further details.

The martyr Omar Junaid was arrested with his brother Yasser from inside their home in Jabalia on 24/12/2023, and throughout that period the family did not know his fate, even after his brother Yasser was released last April.

The Ministry of Prisoners explained that dozens of Gaza detainees were killed under torture and abuse, most of them in the notorious “Sde Teiman” prison.
