Hadramout tribes force UAE to stop establishing military camp

HADRAMOUT, July 23 (YPA) – Several tribes in Hadramout province forced the UAE forces to stop establishing a military camp in Ras Baghwsha area of Al-Deis Al-Sharqiya district, located on the Arabian Sea in eastern Yemen.

Tribal sources confirmed that the leadership of the UAE forces, which is taking over Al-Rayyan Airport in Mukalla city, sent deputy Hadramout governor, Saleh Al-Omqi, to negotiate with the tribes that gathered at the Yathmoun camp in protest against the UAE’s intention to establish a naval forces in the Ras Baghwsha area, amid the refusal of the tribesmen who considered the area the only outlet for them and the fishermen.

The sources explained that the tribes have given the mediation a deadline to stop the developments.

The tribes of Siban and Nahd joined the Al-Hamoum tribes’ camp in Yathmoun area in protest against the establishment of the UAE camp, with their demands to open Al-Rayyan Airport to receive flights and allow fishermen to enter the sea without confiscating their children’s livelihood.

The UAE had sent an armed campaign from the areas of Al-Dhaba and Al-Rayyan in the same province to limit the holding of the popular protest in Yathmoun of Al-Deis Al-Sharqiya district, but the tribesmen rejected.
