Trump arrives in Milwaukee, refuses to change republican conference schedule

WORLD, July 15 (YPA) -Former US President Donald Trump arrived in Milwaukee to attend the Republican Party conference, where he is set to officially announce his presidential candidacy.  Meanwhile, First Lady Jill Biden made a phone call to Melania Trump.

Jill Biden spoke with Melania Trump over the phone, but did not provide further details. Following an assassination attempt on her husband, Melania Trump had called on Americans to set aside their political differences and unite, describing the attacker as a “beast”, NBC News reported, citing a source.

This comes just a day after Trump survived an assassination attempt during a speech at a rally in Pennsylvania.

A video captured the moment of the attempt shortly after he took the stage, showing Secret Service agents escorting him away with blood on the side of his face.

Trump confirmed on social media that he was shot in the “upper part of his right ear.”

Pennsylvania police reported that one person was killed in the incident and two others were severely injured.

The FBI identified the shooter as “Thomas Matthew Crooks,” 20, who was killed at the scene by Secret Service agents.

US media noted that Thomas Crooks had no criminal record, and authorities have not yet determined his motive for attempting to assassinate Trump.

The FBI has described the incident as an assassination attempt, and a bomb was later found in Crooks’ vehicle.

In the meantime, Trump arrived in Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, to participate in the Republican conference, where he will officially announce his candidacy for U.S. President.

Upon arrival, Trump stated, “I decided “that I cannot allow a ‘shooter,’ or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else.”

He confirmed that he has completely rewritten his speech for the Republican conference, with a new emphasis on calling for unity in the country.
