Confrontations renew with coalition forces in Marib, Shabwa

SHABWA, July 01 (YPA) – The UAE-backed armed factions, stationed in Ain district of Shabwa province, launched an attack towards the positions of Sanaa forces, in Harib district of Marib.

Tribal sources in Marib that the “al-Amaliqa forces, Giants, Shabwa Defense and Sheba Axis” factions, backed by the UAE forces, attempted on Monday to advance towards the strategic Aqaba “Mala’a” mountain range, separating the two districts of Harib and Al-Jawba of Marib.

According to tribal sources, Sanaa forces launched a counterattack, forcing the fighters of the UAE-funded factions to withdraw towards their last stronghold in Ain district.

The sources explained that Sanaa forces carried out a military counterattack towards the remaining coalition forces positions east of Harib district.

A number of fighters on both sides were killed and wounded in the operation, which Sanaa forces managed to tighten its control on the strategic village of Al-Jufra, which separates the districts of Harib and Al-Abdiya.
