Sanaa calls on Saudi Arabia to adhere to agreement for transporting pilgrims

SANAA, July 02 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Guidance and Hajj Affairs in Sanaa, Fuad Naji, stated that Saudi authorities, through their arbitrary measures and banning of flights to Sanaa Airport, are increasing the suffering of Yemeni pilgrims.

Naji held the Saudi authorities responsible for the safety of Yemeni pilgrims.

He emphasized that Yemen’s Ministry of Hajj adheres to the Saudi Civil Aviation Agreement with all airlines, including Yemeni carriers, to facilitate the return of pilgrims.

Naji also affirmed commitment to covering the costs of pilgrims’ tickets as agreed upon.

His remarks come amidst escalating tensions and complexities regarding the travel of Yemeni pilgrims to the holy sites, due to measures and restrictions imposed by Saudi authorities on travel to and from Yemen.
