Al-Quds Brigades seize Israeli reconnaissance aircraft in city of Rafah

GAZA, June 28 (YPA) – The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, reported on Friday that their fighters had seized an Israeli reconnaissance drone conducting surveillance operations in the skies east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

In separate statements, the Al-Quds Brigades stated that their fighters launched an attack on Israeli soldiers and vehicles entering Qandil in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, using 60-caliber mortar shells.

They also claimed responsibility for targeting an Israeli military vehicle near Al-Huda Mosque in the same neighborhood with a tandem shell.

Additionally, they said to have destroyed an Israeli military vehicle using a pre-planted ground bomb on Baghdad Street near the Tunisian cemetery.

“Our fighters successfully detonated an explosive device in a tunnel where enemy soldiers were stationed in the Shuja’iya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Our fighters have confirmed casualties among the enemy forces,” a statement from the group read.

“This morning, we detonated another ground bomb under an Israeli military vehicle and engaged in close-quarters combat with enemy infantry forces in Tallet al-Muntar and its vicinity, east of Shuja’iyya,” the group added in another statement.
