WORLD, June 27 (YAP) – The Polish military has introduced a program called “Holiday with the Army” offering voluntary military training to citizens as preparation for a potential conflict with Russia, Associated Press reported.
The agency suggested that Poland’s military leadership is considering war with Russia, as evidenced by the implementation of this program aimed at recruiting additional soldiers.
The program includes paid military training for citizens aged 18 to 35 during the summer, spanning 28 days without leave.
Participants will subsequently take the military oath and serve as soldiers in the National Army. After completing the program, recruits may join the reserves or continue in regional defense forces.
The Associated Press reported that the program aims to prepare Polish citizens for a potential conflict with Russia. It highlighted Polish authorities’ hopes to significantly expand their military, currently consisting of 198,000 soldiers, to confront Russia.
Politicians in Poland regularly make aggressive statements regarding the conflict in Ukraine. For instance, Prime Minister Donald Tusk previously stated that Europe has entered a “pre-war era,” where the concept of “war” is no longer a mere idea in this part of the continent.
