Sanaa presents new initiative to open Damt-Dhalea road

DHALEA, June 13 (YPA) – The acting governor of Dhalea, Abdul Latif Al-Shagdari, directed to form a committee composed of prominent figures from the province to negotiate with the other party to open the Damt-Murais-Qataba-Dhalea road, especially with the approach of Eid al-Adha, a time when family visits between villages along the road are frequent.

Al-Shagdari confirmed the resumption of the initiative to open the road from one side, despite the initiative being previously rejected by the other party. The road is now open from the Sanaa side, with no obstacles remaining in this regard.

He expressed hope that the other party would respond to the initiative and called on the sheikhs and dignitaries of Murais, Qataba, and Dhalea on the other side to do popular pressure on the so-called leadership of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)  to coordinate efforts to organize a march from Murais to Damt.

Al-Shagdari noted that participants in the march would be warmly welcomed to open the road, which would benefit the province’s residents and alleviate the suffering caused by road closures, particularly in transporting patients and food supplies across all districts of the province.
