Unknown persons attack union official with acid in Taiz

TAIZ, June 05 (YPA) – The head of the Medical Technical Professions Syndicate in the city of Taiz, Abdul Jalil Al- Zuraiqi, was attacked, beaten, and had raw acid sprayed on him by three people riding a motorcycle in Al-Masbah neighborhood, which is under the control of the Islah factions, in the center of the city.

A statement issued by the union, stated that three unknown assailants, one of whom was armed, attacked Al- Zuraiqi on the street leading to Al-Taawoun Park in Al-Masbah neighborhood due to the revelation of corruption cases in the health sector, especially in the sale of forged certificates.

The statement called on the coalition authorities to expedite the investigation of corruption cases, announce them, and refer them to the competent authorities, amid widespread condemnation of the attack on the head of the “Medical Technical Professions Syndicate”.

Al-Zuraiqi suffered burns as a result of acid being sprayed on his hands, while covering his face, he had bruises on various parts of his body, as a result of the assault.
