SHABWA, June 05 (YPA) – Gunmen blocked at the entrance to the city of Ataq in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, to prevent the passage of trucks transporting gas and oil derivatives heading from Marib province to the provinces of Aden, Lahj, Dhalea, and Taiz.
Local sources reported that “the militants demanded an increase in Shabwa’s electricity share of diesel coming from Marib, which currently amounts to 50,000 liters of diesel.”
This is the second tribal blockade within a week that oil trucks have been exposed to in Shabwa, while the security forces loyal to the Saudi-led coalition did not intervene to remove the blockade.
