WORLD, May 22 (YPA) US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel cannot proceed under the current circumstances.
Speaking before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Blinken mentioned that the ball is now in Israel’s court regarding normalization with Saudi Arabia.
He emphasized that the United States has been working to advance negotiations with Saudi Arabia on an agreement to normalize relations with Israel, but reiterated that the ball is now in Israel’s court.
Additionally, Blinken stated that the United States is prepared to work with Congress to find an appropriate response to the International Criminal Court’s decision.
He claimed that the ICC’s decision will only complicate the prospects of reaching an agreement on the release of Israeli prisoners.
