Protesters cut off roads to Aden Airport, thwarting attempt of head of pro-coalition government to escape

ADEN, May 13 (YPA) – Protesters blocked most of the main streets and roads in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the coalition, in protest against the deterioration of the city’s electricity service, on Monday.

Sources at Aden Airport reported that Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak was about to flee to Riyadh, but the protesters blocked the streets and roads leading from Maashiq Palace to the airport during the past hours, so that the power stations could be supplied with fuel.

The protests escalated due to the power outage in citizens’ homes due to the lack of fuel for power plants.
