TAIZ, May 05 (YPA) -A leader in the Socialist Party was assaulted and his belongings were looted by unidentified gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Islah party in the city of Taiz.
Media sources reported that the unknown gunmen assaulted the acting secretary of the media department of the Socialist Party organization loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Taiz province, Nasr Abdulrahman Al-Samaei, on Thursday evening after he left the Maghrib prayer in Al-Jumhuri neighborhood.
The sources confirmed that the gunmen intercepted Al-Samaei near the house of “Mohammed Ahmed Mansour Al-Ja’ashani” and looted his bag, his mobile phone and a sum of money under threat of arms, then fled to an unknown destination.
The areas under the control of the coalition factions in Taiz have witnessed unprecedented security chaos since the beginning of 2016, due to the spread of armed gangs as a result of the absence of state authorities.
