ADEN, May 03 (YPA) – The UAE called on the “Southern Transitional Council” (STC) to impose harsh sanctions and ban the political activities of the new parties and components in the southern provinces under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.
The head of the Center for Political Studies in Abu Dhabi, Khaled Al-Shamiri, said in a post on the “X” platform, monitored by the Yemeni Press Agency, “The activities of the new political parties and components in the south must be banned without tolerance.”
Al-Shamiri added, when you try to form a party and receive funding from a state that has agendas that are contrary to the hopes and aspirations of the leadership, the matter has gone beyond freedom to high treason.
He pointed out that these components have become “a major loophole to attack the STC and disperse the voice of the people of the south.”
This came after a meeting held by parties and political components loyal to the coalition in the city of Aden during the past few days, sponsored by the “American Democratic Institute,” to form a political bloc that brings together the STC with a number of parties, including the Islah Party and the General People’s Congress.
