Leader in STC survives assassination attempt by Al-Qaeda elements in Abyan

ABYAN, March 25 (YPA) – A number of members of the UAE’s “Southern Transitional” factions were killed on Sunday in an armed attack targeted a leader in Abyan province.

According to informed local sources, al-Qaeda elements set up an armed ambush to the “staff of the third battalion of the Fifth Brigade Support”, Hussein Samah al-Muhaori in Wadi Omran in Maodiya district, whereas Al-Muhaori miraculously survived, while two of his guards were killed and others wounded.

The sources pointed out that the elements bombarded the elements with a hail of bullets with various types of weapons, which led to burning a Nissan-type military vehicle belonging to them.
