5.2 magnitude marine earthquake hits Gulf of Aden
SANAA, March 18 (YPA) – A strong marine earthquake struck on Sunday off the coast of a Yemeni city amid expectations of a series of tremors and marine earthquakes in the coming days.
The earthquake struck the Gulf of Aden with a magnitude of 5.2 Richter and at a shallow depth off the coast of the city of Aden amid expectations of tremors and earthquakes around the epicenter of the earthquake itself or through the transmission of seismic energy towards the Arabian Sea, Djibouti, Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Socotra island.
This came after the offshore earthquake that struck the Owen fault in the Gulf of Aden with a force of 6 Richter in early March.
