SOCOTRA, Feb. 28 (YPA) – Dozens of members of the Faculty of Education in Socotra Archipelago carried out a protest rally to demand the implementation of their financial demands.
In the rally, the participants raised slogans affirming their rejection of marginalization, and demanding growing the standard of living for university professors in order to raise educational outcomes.
The protesters renewed their demands that the parties loyal to the Emirates deal positively with their rights, in order to preserve the stability of the educational process.
They confirmed the continuation of escalatory steps until all demands be met.
On the other hand, the city of Hadibo, the center of the Socotra Archipelago, witnessed on Wednesday a demonstration in solidarity with the Palestinian people and denouncing the war taking place in the Gaza Strip, despite the repressive measures of the UAE forces against citizens.
The protesters chanted slogans demanding an end to the Zionist war on Gaza, condemning the silence and complicity of the Arab and Islamic regimes with the brutal massacres that left nearly 3,000 Palestinians martyred and about 70,000 wounded, as well as the comprehensive destruction of the infrastructure, hospitals and schools.
