OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Feb. 28 (YPA) – A huge fire broke out in a plastic factory in Hebron on Tuesday evening in the “Royal” plastics factory in the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” quoted the mayor of Hebron, Tayseer Abu Sneineh, as saying: “The fire has never been witnessed in the governorate, and the process of extinguishing it exceeds the capabilities available in the governorate, given that the materials used in the factory are highly flammable.” He described the situation as out of control.
Vehicles from all private and government fire stations and water tankers arrived at the fire site to help put out the fire. This factory, which is located in the Beir Haram Al-Rama area, north of the city of Hebron, is considered a cornerstone of the Palestinian economy and employs nearly a thousand workers.
The Civil Defense Service announced that crews and vehicles from the Hebron and Bethlehem Civil Defense and additional crews from the suburbs of Al-Quds and Jericho were heading to the center of the fire.
