UAE soldiers killed in Mogadishu attack

MOGADISHU, Feb. 11 (YPA) – Three Emiratis soldiers, including a Bahraini, were killed on Saturday in an attack inside a military base in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

UAE Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Sunday that “three members of its armed forces and a Bahraini officer were killed in a terrorist act, while they were training Somali armed forces.”

The statement added that two others were injured, without revealing other details about the attack, but emphasizing that the UAE would continue to “coordinate and cooperate with the Somali government” to determine the circumstances of the incident.

Al-Shabaab Movement claimed it was behind the attack that targeted the base in the Somali capital.
