GAZA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) confirmed on Tuesday that about 8,000 people were evacuated from the besieged Al-Amal Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip.

The IFRC said that “about 300 people, including the elderly, are still stranded inside Al-Amal Hospital.”

The spokesman for the IFRC, Tommaso della Longa, confirmed during a press conference in Geneva that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is “more than catastrophic.”

He pointed out that about a hundred elderly people and people with disabilities were unable to leave Al-Amal Hospital, in addition to 80 patients and 100 employees and volunteers who are still inside it.
