Parliament reviews with APA advanced steps taken by Yemen to support Palestine
SANAA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament in Sanaa, Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, sent a letter on Tuesday to the Secretary-General of the Asian Parliamentary Association (APA), Dr. Mohammad Reza Majidi.
In the letter, Al-Ra’i expressed the Yemeni Parliament was interested and briefed on the work of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and its final statement of the first meeting of the Palestine Committee, held in Tehran on January 10, 2024.
He reviewed the advanced steps taken by Yemen to support and assist the Palestinian people, especially those being besieged in the Gaza Strip, including the Yemeni armed forces’ role in preventing the passage of Israeli ships or ships heading to the occupied Palestinian territories through two Red and Arab Seas.
The letter reaffirmed Yemen’s commitment to protecting maritime navigation in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden, explaining that this step was conditional on stopping the aggression against Gaza, lifting the unjust siege.
It pointed out that despite Sanaa’s commitment to protecting maritime navigation in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden, America, Britain, and their allies have worked to militarize the Red Sea and created an alliance to bomb Yemen, as well as to terrorize the peaceful people, and kill a number of citizens for protecting the Zionist trade and economy.
“The bombing and aggression of America and Britain against Yemen led to adverse results,” Al-Ra’i said. “We pledged to continue preventing Israeli ships or those heading to the occupied territories, so that the list of bans would include American and British ships.”
