SANAA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – Four Colombian military personnel were killed when their helicopter crashed in the northwest of the country near the border with Panama, according to the Colombian army.
The army said in a statement that “a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter belonging to the infantry corps suffered an accident during an air cargo operation towards the Kuti military base in Chukwu province”, without specifying the location or circumstances of the incident.
“Ground forces immediately went to the scene in coordination with Panamanian authorities to conduct search and rescue operations”, the statement added.
The statement also revealed that “Four of our military personnel were found dead at the scene, including the pilot and his assistant, and three wounded were taken to the town of Apartado in the north of the country”.
