ABYAN, SHABWA, Jan. 19 (YPA) – At least seven members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions on Friday were killed and injured on Friday in two separate attacks in the provinces of Abyan and Shabwa, which are under the control of Saudi-led coalition, following Saudi-Emirati tensions in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout province.
Local sources confirmed that terrorist elements targeted a military vehicle belonging to the UAE-backed factions with an explosive device in Wadi Moudiyah in Abyan, leaving three members who were on board the vehicle, dead.
The sources explained that the second attack targeted a military vehicle belonging to the “Shabwa Defense Forces” in Wadi Sura in the Mussaina area in Shabwa province, leaving three members injured in addition to the injury of a civilian who was in the area during the attack.
The sources suggested that there might be a fatality among the targeted individuals in the area attached to the military vehicle. They indicated that the victims of the incident are from the Dhalea governorate province.
Terrorist elements resumed their attacks on factions funded by the UAE after military tensions between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in Hadramout province over the past two days.
