WEST BANK, Jan. 03 (YPA) – A comprehensive strike took place on Wednesday in the cities of the West Bank, denouncing the assassination of Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Saleh Al-Arouri, by Israeli entity.
The strike, called by the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and the national and Islamic forces, paralyzed all aspects of life, and universities, banks, and shops were closed.
Last night, several cities in the West Bank witnessed angry demonstrations in protest against the crime.
In a statement, the national and Islamic forces called for a comprehensive strike and urged the Arab countries to take a “decisive and immediate stance” in response to the assassination of Al-Arouri and a number of his companions.
The statement affirmed that the resistance would continue, calling for general national mourning, a comprehensive strike, and revolutionary action in all arenas and fronts.
The statement considered that targeting Al-Arouri on Arab land and capital is “an aggression against the entire Arab and Islamic nation, not just Lebanon and Palestine.”
