UN names outgoing Dutch minister humanitarian coordinator for Gaza

WORLD, Dec. 27 (YPA) – The United Nations announced the appointment of Sigrid Kaag of the Netherlands as Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, following a Security Council resolution which called for aid to be delivered to the strip “at scale.”

Sigrid Kaag will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring humanitarian relief delivery to the Gaza Strip. She will also establish a UN mechanism to accelerate aid distribution, the UN said in a statement.
