WORLD, Dec. 23 (YPA) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres affirmed that the military occupation operations hindered the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.
“What is happening there is unprecedented and “the war must stop to deliver aid”, “Guterres said on Friday during a UN Security Council vote on resolutions on the Gaza conflict.
“We waited 71 days for Israel finally to allow aid to enter Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing. The crossing was then hit while aid trucks were in the area.”
He explained that a humanitarian ceasefire is the only way to stop the suffering.
In a related context, the UN chief expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the statements of Israeli officials questioning the two-state solution.
Things are not happening as we hope they are, “and I was hoping that something would happen when I called for the activation of Article 99,” he said.
