Mohammed Abdulsalam: Yemen prioritizes maritime security

SANAA, Nov. 30 (YPA) -The official Ansarullah spokesman, Mohammed Abdulsalam, emphasized Yemen’s focus on maritime security and the safeguarding of its waters, with the Yemeni Naval Forces committed to protecting their territorial waters within their sovereign rights.

The remarks of Mohammed Abdulslam, who is also the head of the national negating delegation, came in response to the statement by the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven Industrialized Countries regarding maritime security.

The statement called for “an immediate cessation of threats against international shipping lanes and commercial vessels, as well as the release of the ship M/V Galaxy Leader and its crew.”

“Yemen’s Naval Forces had previously cautioned that Israeli ships or those operating with the enemy were potential targets due to the relentless aggression and unjust blockade on the Gaza Strip,” Abdulsalam stated

He highlighted that the actions of the Israeli entity pose a threat to both regional and international security. Countering these aggressive activities is pivotal for the stability and peace of the region and the world.

Abdulsalam clarified that the detained Israeli ship’s crew was treated in accordance with Islamic ethics and human customs, ensuring their ability to communicate with their families.

Regarding the detention of the Israeli ship, Abdulsalam explained that it was an act of solidarity with the people and resistance in Gaza. The ship’s fate is intertwined with the choices made by the Palestinian resistance, serving their objectives against the enemy.

He emphasized that granting legitimacy to G7 Industrialized countries to defend the Zionist entity violates international law.

Abdulsalam underscored that the true legitimacy lies with the Palestinian people in confronting the aggression and siege imposed by the Israeli entity, supported by the US and the West.
