Israeli occupation plans to establish large settlement with Egypt border

AL-QUDS, Nov. 29 (YPA) – A Zionist plan, which was recently discussed and approved by the occupation government, to establish a large settlement on the border with Egypt, according to Hebrew media outlets.

Director General of the Planning Department of bizportal.co.il website explained that the new settlement would include the Nitzana settlement, which is located about 70 kilometers south of Beersheba, and might include more than 1,100 apartments and 200 hotel rooms.

“The settlement will serve as a regional service center and next to the educational and desert tourism center,” the sources added.

Regarding the details of the upcoming project, the website said that during the war specifically, the Planning and Building Committee in the Southern Region approved a detailed plan for the new Nitzana settlement on the Egyptian border. The settlement might include 1,144 apartments, public buildings, commercial and labor areas, in addition to about 200 hotel rooms.

It indicated that two government decisions had been issued in the past approving the establishment of the new settlement.

The settlement is being promoted by the Israel Lands Authority and Planning Administration, and is proposed within the Ramat Negev Regional Council, about 70 kilometers south of the city of Beersheba, near the border with Egypt.

The Nitzana educational settlement community, named after Arieh (Luba) Eliav, will also be part of the new settlement, which has a total planned area of about 3,000 dunams.
